Review; The Potrait of a Lady Analysis

The poem 'Potrait of a Lady' by T.S Elliot is a wonderful piece of story. The story has perfect plot that could tell the story amazingly. The initial situation, conflict, climax, suspense, denouement, and conclusion, are arranged neatly and beautifully. So, this poetry could attract me to read it and make me easy to understand the order of event, even though I actually get some troubles when I try to figure out the deep meaning of story. But, it does not the matter because I think it is a big challenge for me. In other word, I could successfully find the deep meaning according to my own perception.
The story is divided into three chapters with putting the time of month for each chapter. That is functioned to describe about the time of every event in plot. So, it could make someone easier to relate the order of event. In other word, it could show the progress of time and action.
The poem is talking about the broken love between a man and lady. The author names the lady as Juliet, yet he doesn’t give it for man. It probably the author describes a man has no clearly character, means bad character. The principal of story is actually referred to everyone that has broken love with his couple, because the author Juliet name is meant as general name that is famous on societies extensively. So, the author could indicate Juliet as the lady that refers to every lady. Also, he describes a man as a guide referring to every man. The man probably has deep meaning like “men”, the plural of man. So, it could refer to every man has broken love.
The first case that is told by the author is from December afternoon (stanza 1). It is actually the last month that ought to be told at the end of the story. But, the author has another purpose that he tells the end of the story in the beginning. It probably he’d like to tell the past event of someone as the lesson for everyone in the present time. In this case, December afternoon is described like the misery and regret for someone and it is not separated from the most important aim to tell us about the effect that would strike us when we are late to change the broken love like the death of Juliet, “An atmosphere of Juliet’s tomb”. The man fell the misery comes into his heart because the harmony of his love is doesn’t come for a long time, whereas the lady has lost her breath too fast. So, the man that begins to love her affectionately getting the deep regret and extremely heartbreak, “Among velleities and carefully caught regrets….”
In the line 16-17 of the first stanza, the author also assumes the lady as the little tone of violin, “Through attenuated tones of violins”, and assumes the man as the far tone of cornet, “Mingled with remote cornets”. It probably means that the relation between man and women is broken.
